RULES AND REGULATIONS IN GREENLAND
According to Greenland Pilot Act No. 1698 of 11th December 2015, it is mandatory for all passenger ships with more than 250 passengers onboard, to use a pilot when sailing within the Greenlandic National waters.
According to Order no. 1697 of 11 December 2015 “Order for Greenland on the safe navigation, etc. of ships” it is mandatory for all ships to have at lease one person available on board with the necessary local knowledge of the waters, to be navigated.
This person shall hold the qualifications that would entitle him to navigate the ship cencerned or be trained to and have several years’ experiencenavigating ships of similar size.
